I know that I’m not the only one here that really loves the Oscars.  Oh, to spend the whole entire day having stylists pamper you! Nails, toes, hair, SPANKS, glamorous dresses made by the finest designers…. heaven! 

Being a hairstylist I feel the need to show my hair likes and dislikes and of coarse the disasters!

first the likes:

Michelle Williams in my opinion has the CUTEST hair cut in the whole wide world right now. This adorable little pixie cut rivals Hallie Berry’s short little do. Michelle always looks so chic and put together.  This is simplicity at its very best!

Camila Alves (Matthew McConaughey’s baby momma) looked stunning.  The dress, the hair, it all went together so well.  I love again, she kept it pretty simple here.  Not a lot of jewelery and the hair was soft and elegant.  perfect for a night like the Oscars!

Scarlett Johansen’s hair was flirty and sexy.  You could tell she was trying to put out the single and ready to mingle vibe, and this hair along with this dress says it all.  I love her hair color, soft. Not super bright bleach blond that can (and usually does) look harsh on many skin tones.  I love that she went pretty sultry with the eye make up.  So sexy!

And Now The Dislikes:

I know, I know, everyone loves Natalie Portman right now… But what can I say, I didn’t like it.. That is all.

This was VERY disapointing for me.  I LOVE Mila Kunis, But this was just a big fat miss for me. 

Melissa Leo’s hairstylist should be ashamed of themselves!! IT’S THE FREAKEN OSCARS! Her hair should not be falling out! TERRIBLE!

Well that is it. Those are my likes and dislikes for this years Oscar awards.

At the end of 2010 I found this company, FeatherLocks.  From the first click on the website I was a smitten kitten.  These things are amazing!  My clients are loving these fun little accents in there hair, and so am I!

Featherlocks are rooster feathers of all kinds of colors that attach to your hair. These puppies can last and last and last.  They are soo much fun.  They are attached by this little bead that you squeeze onto about 10 tiny strands of hair.  and guess what they stay! They can stay until they slide out.  Ive been telling my clients their life expectancy is around 6 weeks.  Ive had mine in for almost 6 weeks and they’re going no where.. 

These bad boys can be put in short hair, like this:

My client is, you guessed it a rockstar! He loves having fun and edgy hair.  When he called me to get green put in his hair I knew that he must have FeatherLocks as well.  Im so glad he let me put them in.  They look really really cool with his funky mow-hawk/mullet hair cut. 

like I said before the colors are pretty much endless.  Look here at this blond with black and cream feathers.

totally fun right? who wouldn’t love this look for a spring vacation in Mexico or even a summer concert?  The possibility’s are pretty much endless you can add a lot or very little to your hair.  No matter what, your friends Will notice. 

This will no doubt be a trend to jump on before everyone else does. This summer will be covered in feathers!
